I have a 2013 F150 Supercab Platium.
It is comfy but it's a 40k truck and like the xf.


I can trade even for a 2013 XF 4,000 miles.

I don't have a Jag dealer in area. Closest is 3 hours away.
I have heard bad things about jag but will be under warranty. Also the resale value doesn't seem to be that good either.

Please help I miss the looks

 

Only you can make that decision and you will have to live with it..

I personally would not buy the 2.0. I've driven a number of them as service loaners and they have a very strange power delivery that I really didn't like. Ok on the freeway, but terrible in town with a really slow response to input and then turbo laaaaaaggggg. Also, if you have to go 3 hours for service, I'm not sure I would do it. Unless you like to go where the dealer is, because you might be there more than you would like getting warranty work performed. And I'm not bashing Jaguar, it's just the nature of the beast.

 

Agreed. Just not being able to service it at a local dealer would be annoying enough. Warranty issues are pretty likely to come up and driving 3 hours each time would get old. If your only choice was between the 2.0T and your truck, I would much rather be driving your truck. The Platinum F150s are nice. If you could get out of your truck into a used XF Supercharged or 5.0 that would make more sense.

 

Would not buy the jaguar if the dealer is 3 hours away

 

My wife and I purchased a '13 XF 4 cyl (for her) in Aug and we have only been back to the dealer to have the Calijet paint sealant applied.


I agree with other reviews that the 4 cyl turbo is touchy when accelerating. It's like all or nothing but it does have plenty of power (for her) and I think once you get used to the accelerator/power lag/turbo it's pretty easy to control. You just need to feather that pedal.


I drove a 6 cyl as a loaner and definitely did not like the auto/stop feature and wouldn't buy one because of that.


Both cars drive amazingly. I'm just worried one of us will get a ticket because you can easily be driving 85 mph, thinking you are going 65 or 70 mph.


One other big complaint is having the CLOCK as your main dash display.

 

The objective performance specs say the 2.0 turbo is perfectly acceptable.

Trading any F150 short of a Raptor for any XF is just a no brainer.

The 2.0T to me is fine. I would always drive it in sport mode automatic (not paddle shift mode). So the higher rpm hold take away the funny feeling to me.

The LOANER fleet to me is a flag. A company that has a fleet to give you when you get warranty work done.
I have 3 choices for warranty work. Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, and Charleston Nc.

Not gonna lie if people on here say I'll be visiting the dealer a lot. And waiting for a fix 2-3 hours away. I'm scared.

I wanted the Jag but what type of things go bad. And when they fix them does it repeat.

 

I have an '11 xf SC. Bought new. Have had it for 18 months; 12k miles. My sole issue is a creaking steering column during auto adjusting when getting in the car. My 12 month service addressed the issue, but it is starting to do it again. 3 hours is a long way to go regardless. I wouldn't travel that far for service. My dealer is over an hour away, but they pick up and return my car for warranty service free of charge.

I would definitely get some seat time behind the 2.0 before you buy if you haven't already...and also test drive a few of the other engines. I came really close to buying a 2.0T ATS before I picked up my XFR and although it was "fine" for me too I am really glad I opted for the more powerful option.

 

The only thing is I want to stay in the $40,000 range.

They have killer deals on V6. $9,000 off. But still too much.

 

Both my XF have been extremely reliable. My new one hasn't been back to the dealer for one thing since I took delivery in June. Mind you, I had to adjust the tire pressures and also adjust the headlight aim myself , easy to do.

 

I believe if you select "S" mode in the 2.0, you will need to use the paddle shifters. From the manual:

Based on my driving the car. The S mode will automatically shift if you don't use the paddle shifters. Once you use the paddle shifters you will need keep using them. Unless you shift out to D and back to S

As there is no jag dealer in my city, my jag dealer does it to sell cars to people here that would not otherwise consider a Jag ( or Landrover) due to distance. I received a 2012 jag loaner during my service.

 

The 2.0 gas engine performs like the 2.2 diesel four popular in Europe.

 

if you need a truck, keep the truck. If you don't, I would highly recommend the XF, but not the 2.0. Look under your sofa cushions and try to find some change to get a V6 at minimum - just remember to add to your start up routine that extra step of disabling the infernal stop start "feature".
