Default Squeaking Steering Wheel

Hi all!

My steering wheel is set to what I think is auto-adjust, and when I turn the car on or off to start or stop driving, it moves up/down. But recently it's started making a squeaking/creaking noise as its moving position, which stops as soon as its moved.

It definitely doesn't sound like the regular, motorized sound. Wondering if you have any idea of what this could be, and what a possible solution might be.

Thanks!

I had the same issue when I first bought my car. They changed the plastic housing around the steering column and it's been quiet for about 18 mos. now.

I've had mine " greased" by the dealer twice in years of ownership. Others had some replacement. There are older threads on this issue. Mines been quite for 7 months now since they serviced it the 2nd time.
