Unhappy Subwoofer stopped working after new battery install

Hello all,

Please, I need help! I have a 2010 XF with the subwoofer located under the spare tire. I had my battery replaced and now my subwoofer is not working. Does the battery have anything to do with the subwoofer? Is it possible that the subwoofer somehow got disconnected? Will it be necessary to have something done with software? I will be going back to the place where I had the battery installed, maybe they unplugged something and didn't plug it back. Any help will surely be appreciated.

Assuming everything else works, I'd check the wires that give the subwoofer signal. If you pull out your spare you should find them no problem along the back of the trunk (toward the rear bumper). Undo and reconnect the connector and check to see if starts working again.

Thank you so much 2010 Kyanite XFR, I will certainly try your suggestion. I will definitely post back when the problem is solved. But I still don't understand why the subwoofer stopped working when the battery was changed.

The wires for the sub run near the battery so they might have gotten pulled a bit and disconnected.

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the wires but unfortunately it did not work. Thanks for the suggestion Kyanite XFR.

Has any one else had a problem with the subwoofer? My next step is to remove the spare to see if there is some kind of reset button on the subwoofer.

If anyone else has any suggestions please post. It will certainly be appreciated.

There isn't anything on the subwoofer. It's just a big plastic box with some wires coming out and a speaker on the bottom.

Thanks to 2010 Kyanite XFR, although the subwoofer didn't work when I initially disconnected and reconnected the wire, it is now working. I didn't do anything else. I went to a car audio shop to have a technician inspect it, but when I turned on the music the subwoofer was working. Go figure!

Thanks again, 2010 Kyanite XFR

You're welcome. It's a pretty simple system so that was the only thing I could imagine happened. Glad you're back in business.
