There are some differences between the NA 5.0 and the supercharged 5.0, namely the compression ratio and the shape of the piston heads.

Could you supercharge the NA 5.0? Sure! Would you be able to anticipate an exact plug-and-play copy of the factory supercharged engine? Definitely not.

You could have a cylinder head spacer cut, to lower the compression. You would also need to to add an intercooler system, provide oil to the the supercharger, add oil coolers, change or reflash the ecu.. The supercharger add ons, will add weight to your front end. Spring / strut upgrades may be needed to handle the extra weight.

I personally would sell the n/a xf and buy a used xf-s or xfr

I'm assuming it is a very expensive project, would it be more economical to sell yours and buy one with that feature? Or would it still cost less to have it done to your existing engine?

I don't actually know I'm just asking out of curiosity.

My grandmother bought a new special order from the factory 1978 Lincoln Continental Cartier edition 7.5 liter 460 V8 and kept the car het entire life. I've wanted that car since I was 4. It sat for 20 years, I have spent thousands over the last few years restoring it. I could have bought another one in much better shape for about 1/8 of what I have put into it but the car means that much to me, so I wanted this one finished regardless of time and money (mainly time to get the money lol)

If the car means that much to you then absolutely you can do it. Anything (I mean absolutely anything) can be done with enough time and money.
