I don't think there is a way to edit a specific entry like changing a phone number from 123-4567 to 123-4568. The best you can do is change an entire number by deleting it from the list of numbers and then supplying the new numbers.

This is said from the perspective of a 2005 S-Type with JaguarVoice and a bluetooth phone that won't store the phonebook in the car. Once I learned that JaguarVoice would store it's own phonebook, I quit worrying about the Palm Treo's inconsistencies.

However, it strikes me that if your phone will communicate it's phonebook with the car.....edit the number in the phone and then re-link the phone and car so that the new number is pulled through. That's just a theory but it may work.
