Default Are they the same??

Is a transmission out of a 2009 XF 4.2 the same transmission as a 2009 XF supercharged 4.2? From what I'm reading the non supercharged is a 6HP 26?

The 6HP26 is in both XF's and was still being used in the 5.0 XFR for a couple of years before the 8 speed was introduced.

I believe there is a difference between the NA and SC ZF6HP26 transmissons. Different clutch packs and different TCM. So even tho they are ZF6HP26 transmissions they are different.

In the US the 4.2 supercharged was a one year thing but the S-Type had these transmissions for a few years. I recall seeing a better thread than these but its nearly certain they are different between NA and supercharged even though the model number is the same, TCM programming definitely.

Actually the 6 speed in the 5.0 is a 6HP28, with a different bellhousing/torque converter, etc to the 6HP26 in the 4.2.

And certainly with the 6HP28 in the 5.0s there are differences between the NA and SC models, with "NA" and "SC" stamped at the end of the number on the transmission ID plate.
