Tire pressure monitors
I agree with Oz. What does the TPMS system really do? In case of a blowout, it doesn't help. And if he here is a leak you will surely notice it while driving. It's not like it airs up the tires or performs any type of preventative measure. It tell you the obvious, then gives you a repair cost that really is unnecessary.
I have benefited from the TPMS....I had a low left rear tire, BUT, it was not readily apparent visually until I gauged it and saw that it was 10 PSI lower than the rest...I feel that had I driven too much longer on it, I would have maybe ruined the tire or worse, led to wheel damage...I check and air up my tires evenly once a month as a general habit, but this one snuck up on me between checks with a nail puncture..So YES, the TPMS has proven beneficial for me at least.
Yesterday, I received the dreaded TPS warning for my left rear tire. By the time I got to work, the message changed to TPS failure. All of my tires had the correct pressure. As with all questions I have with my XFR, I searched jaguarforum and found this older thread. In particular, the one from mghirsch. He was correct. I had an adapter in my console plug. I removed it, all of the warnings resolved within one mile. Re-inserted the adapter, the failure reappeared. As always, this forum provides great information.

I guess we need a different warning then for an idiot shop that aired my tires up to 42psi - luckily I noticed the change in handling and decided to gauge them myself....

A dealer won't do it. It is considered a safety device and disabling it would mean the dealer may be liable for any damages and/or injuries resulting from low tire pressure.
Last month or so, my tire pressure low alerts have come on intermittently. They usually turn off within a few seconds. It is not always the same tires. I wondered if the batteries were low in the sensors (seven year old batteries, presumably). But odd that it would suddenly be all of them.
It seems like they come on at certain locations on my route more often than others.... Like they are getting interference from other TPMs from other cars or something else entirely.
Trying to absorb all this thread and balance that against my symptoms. Should I be looking at replacing my module or updating my module? I'm not under warranty.
But then I notice people had problems with stuff plugged into their 12V jack. I have the jaguar cable plugged into a bluetooth tune2air. I guess I should unplug that a while and see if the problem goes away first.
Does anyone know if updating the module fixes the behavior caused by charging/similar devices? And does updating the module affect the ECU? How exactly do they update the TPM module?

Have you ever replaced the tire transmitters?..NO?..Then they are 7 years old base on your sig. and more than likely getting weak and in need of a new replacement.(x4)
^ to 8 years is about all they're good for..then they get weak and start throwing intermittent false indications.

Thanks... I think you're right. Is this something I can do cheaply at a Tire shop, or should I hit a dealer/jaguar service place? I saw a note about OEM vs non-OEM. Anyone strongly recommend one over another?
Here ya go..I think this is as inexpensive as I've seen and they are quality and NEW

I would buy OEM. I have an aftermarket set on my summer wheels and they work 90pc of the time and throw a tpms system error the rest of the time. When I put the winter wheels (with OEM) on they work perfectly. Spoke to my dealer and he said unfortunately they see that a lot
I found a set of 4x OEM tpms new on eBay for about 80 dollars for four. They had about 100 they were selling from the uk and even with shipping it was a great deal. So when I next need to take the tyre off the rim I'll swap them

I was getting the "Tire Pressure System Fault Message," every few weeks. The problem was solved by replacing the non-OEM sensors with Jaguar sensors. The shop that sold and installed my sensors said this is a common issue with Jaguar and Land Rover sensors.
