I have a 2011 XF S model with the 5.0l engine. For about a year, I have been contemplating modifying my tail light so that the reflector on the trunk lid lights up with the tail lights. I see that the newer XF cars have tail lights on the trunk lid that make it look more complete. I had assumed that my trunk lights were just reflectors. But the other night the inner section lighted up. I don't know if this is part of the fog light setup or what. Does any one know how to turn on and off these lights?

 

Yep, that inner bit is the fog light. Dunno how to light it/them up other than using the fog light switch, and the fog lights only work if the headlights are on.
