Welcome to the forum Quedog26,

I've moved you post from X260 (XF 2007 - 2015) forum to X250 (XF 2015 onwards) forum. This is the place to post questions about your model.

Graham

I love these types of posts. I wish I could do that. Just spit out a statement with no details and click submit. And then watch, a bunch of people will come on here and try speculating and answering the cause of the problem without having a clue, and then arguing with themselves, and all the while the original poster never comes back. It's hilarious! I love humans.

Well put!

I think you've covered that situation rather well.

Well if you have the factory keyfob the manual trunk key is what holds the fob on your key ring. Press in the button on the keyfob to release your blade style key, use this to open the trunk manually at the license plate light fixture. Look for the black plug with a key embossed in it. We were ALL once new here so have a look around, with your XF being a 2009 I'm sure well be seeing you again so welcome.

Well, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt just this once. He couldn't put his laptop computer in the trunk because it wouldn't open so he left in the back seat instead. But some thief saw it through the window and because he couldn't lock the doors, stole it. Now the OP has no way to get back online.

I am sure your right. We should definitely keep posting solutions to what we think is the problem. And if we have any spare time, we can help out the kid that's going to do the Hellcat swap into his dad's XFR. He hasn't been back lately, but I am sure he will come back, and then he'll be able to read our posts and complete the swap himself without any issues.

Maybe there were two identical cars in the car park and he walked up to the wrong one?

Exclamation 2009 jaguar xf supercharged

My jaguar has the same problem with the trunk. Pretty sure its the boot but the trunk it sealed and seats are locked . Master key doesn't work and neither does the emergency key thing . Car has about 117K miles . Currently in Washington.
Trunk has opened randomly but hasn't happened for about 6 months now. I'm aware of removing the rear seat but would like to pointed in the write direction for a DYI

Can you be more specific about why "the emergency key thing" doesn't work?

Using the key blade in the trunk is a manual process so if there are wiring issues etc preventing the trunk opening it shouldn't make any difference. Can you turn the key blade in the lock?

I would push on the trunk lid while I worked the key back and forth.

You may be at the point of removing the rear seat then, at which point you should be able to pull the emergency release cord from the inside

Default Manual key does not open trunk

Hi,
I, too, am locked out of my 2010 XF trunk. The battery had run down, and I used the metal manual key to open the trunk. I connected jump starter and tried to start the car, but with no luck. I then shut the trunk while I went to get another jump starter from the neighbour. When I tried to open the trunk using the key again, it did not open. The key turns, but there is no clicking sound at all. I then removed the rear seat base, but there appears to be no emergency release cord

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No Dave is talking about the glow in the dark plastic handle that is inside the trunk.
I have an XJ so not sure but is there a jumper connection under the hood on the XF's?

Just open the bonnet/hood and connect a 12v power source. Then use the button on dash to open the boot/trunk

You may need a strong power source or give it some time first as the battery will draw heavily on it as it tries to charge
