Default UGGHHH, so this just happend....

So yesterday I noticed a faint smell of coolant when I got home from work. I know the coolant line issues are well documented, and from what the dealer told me when I bought it there are no pending recalls on the car so I assumed that was all resolved. So today I get to work, ya I was driving in dynamic mode, and as soon as I'm driving into the lot the low coolant light comes on and I see smoke from under the hood. I park it and there is coolant everywhere. I guess a pipe may have split? the car was traded in Jan 15 and I bought it last Friday so maybe sitting in the AZ sun corroded the lines? anyway it was towed to the dealer, and i'll be going in for a loaner tomorrow. Being a 2011 with 35000 mi I thought I was getting a great deal but I'm a little nervous now having it for only 4 days and I already have a problem. so ya fml...

anyone have any insight as to what they "think" it might be. It is Select certified so I'm sure the warranty will cover this but ya, still worried.

My NA 10 5.0 is on its 3rd water pump. 1st one at 29Kand second one at 70K.

It didn't overheat, so you should be good after they sort it out.

No, thank God it didn't overheat that I'm aware of. I literally was pulling in as soon as I saw the low coolant warning. It was leaking when they put it on the flat bed, but even at that point there was still coolant in the reserve not completely empty. I noticed there is not engine temp gauge so it seems like if it were overheating I'd get an immediate code?

Probably water pump as posted above. It's a pretty cheap and easy repair.

Don't let it get you down. Not a big problem and common so they know how to repair it.

So spoke to the service manager when I picked up the loaner, they originally thought it was a failed water pump , turns out it was a y pipe at the bottom of the water pump that busted causing the huge leak. Said should be good to go tomorrow. I'm one happy camper, not to mention got a 2013 XF 3.0 supercharged pretty sweet
