I recently bought a 380 W Meridian sound system for my 2013 XF. It's an upgrade from the base system. When the system arrived, a cable was in the package (see image). Can anyone tell me what it is for?
p.s. I have read that I need to change four connection pins to activate full mid-range over when I install the new speakers in the green connection, however, it appears this cable has already been done. It's just a loop.
The green connection should already exist in your car loom, if your car is prewired for the system, but it won't be plugged into anything. It purely contains the extra speaker wires required for the highest end system in the car. I suspect the breaker/supplier has just cut the connector off and supplied it with the amp in case you need it for your retrofit, but you shouldn't do.
