After 14+ years, I'm going to part with my 2010 XF. I looked at the trade-in value and there's a big spread(t least $5k) between the trade-in value and what people are asking when they are selling retail, so I'm going to try selling privately. I was thinking I'd list it on Craigslist, which only charges $5 for a 45-day ad and also on Cars.com which charges $49 for 30 days with free renewals. Since the car is in superb condition and I'm the original owner with all maintenance records, I think I'll do well. I've had a pretty easy time selling my cars on my own in the past. mainly because they're in such great condition.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to list my car for sale?

 

If you had a pretty easy time selling your cars in the past, why not just whatever means you used to accomplish that?

The means I used previously no longer apply. I sold one car to a relative, two to the same friend, one through an ad on the BMW Car Club site and I traded a Mercedes back to the dealer where I bought it (I got a fair offer for my trade and I didn't think I'd do much better selling it on my own). My Jaguar is too old to sell to any of my friends or relatives, and the wholesale offers I got were very low, so I think I'll have to advertise it publicly.
