Default Winter Mode

I have had my XF for over two years but this is the 1st winter I will be driving it. Today I was trying to get familiar with the winter mode as I have never used it before. When I push the button the light does not come on but on the dashboard it says "winter mode" and there is a triangle with an "i" in it. Any suggestions? When I press any other of the functions the lights come on.

Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by the triangle with an I on it. I first used winter mode a few days ago when we got 4 inches in dayton, it worked brilliantly. Starting off in second gear and reduced throttle response meant zero wheel spin for me, although the anti-lock brakes did seem a little sensitive. Still, it did way better in the snow than my previous Lincoln LSV8. If yours went into winter mode, you would know it as soon as you hit the pedal. If not, you may have an issue.

To me that sounds like there is some kind of fault/issue. For example if your tire pressure is low you will get that triangle after you acknowledge it. However, if you look on your main screen there should be a red "I" at the top center for you to tap and that should give you some kind of message.

The amber light along the front edge (back edge maybe?) of the console switch should light up. There is no dash light. Winter mode message should be displayed in the info display between the instruments.

Red triangle with ! in it is a fault message.
