Default Would you.....

buy another XF or XFR? I have had a lot of issues with mine and am questioning whether or not 1/ to get rid of this one, or 2/ keep it until the warranty expires and buy something else (2015 Vette), or 3/ buy sex (F Coupe). given my experience with my XFR, I am questioning option #3, or any Jag for that matter.

Yes. I bought a second 11 XF Premium because the first one was so awesome.

But I think the XF is much more reliable without the R. I have a Twin Turbo V8 Lotus Esprit for a fun car. I wouldn't want to drive the XFR daily. The super charged and the early XF's seem to be troublesome.

CP1, you're having a bad time with the car right now and your confidence is low. All cars have issues. A friend had an 08 535. Had to change the injectors twice! Luckily it was still under warranty.

My Infiniti G35 starting dying for no apparent reason. With a code reader I was able to determine it was a cam position sensor and I fixed it in 20 minutes after grabbing the part and for under $60.

So wait for the diagnosis before you get too excited about anything. And know that whatever else you get could have just as many or more issues.

I am leaning toward chevy myself. I've owned many chevrolets from new and never had the issues I have had with the xf. But who knows. Chevy's interior has a cheap look and feel. And there are tons of them on the road. I like not seeing a car that looks exactly like mine driving down the road. Hopefully it will be a few more years until I am ready for that decision and maybe by then all the initial bugs will shake out.

Yes, since I can't get another S-Type!

Unfortunately, time may be running out. I would want a non-R 5.0l but they may be too old by the time my '08 Satin Edition 4.2l S-Type is ready for replacement (currently has on 57k miles).

There will always be cream puffs that someone only put 1-2K miles a year on the car. You just have to be patient when the time comes to shop for one.

The cream puffs usually come out of retirement areas like Florida.

Yep, I've now decided to keep my XFS for another two years a so and buy a manual F-Type coupe when it comes out.

I'm 6'4" and there are only a few occasions I envy shorter people...seating on public transportation and sports cars. There are so many cars that I would like to have the option to buy, but I wouldn't be able to drive them for more than 30 minutes if at all. F-Type being one of the not at all :-(

My friend at work is 6'9" and an ex NBA player, and he just bought an F-Type coupe. Says he fits fine, and better than most sports cars like the new Vette.

Interesting. I made my judgment on the F-Type base on the convertible, so may have to explore the coupe as it sounds like it has more leg room. And I agree about the vette, no possible way to make that work.

By the way, what is your co-workers name? I follow the NBA pretty religiously so I should know him.

I Had quite a bit of trouble with my first XF initially (over the first 2 years then second 2 1/2 trouble free) then none with my second, and none with the XKR. I would buy another XF in a flash, say if my wife wanted one. Or an XE, though I'd probably wait until they had been out a year before I did, the first run teething issues take the gloss off.

I have been looking at the f-type at the dealers, personally I prefer the overall shape of the XK and I also prefer the interior of the XK, even though it is getting a little long in the tooth. Which is fortunate because I have the XKR!

Just got the call from the dealer. They've had it a week already. A hose had to be ordered before they could even start diagnosing the problems.

The car is a mess: Injectors sticking open at idle dumping fuel, water pump leaking (again), bad control rod (?), split hose on supercharger causing vacuum leak. Bill is currently over 5 grand. Luckily, that's what I paid for the extended warranty.
