Hi Everyone,

I'm having some weird issues with 2009 xf 2.7D. Went to the car in the morning and the key wouldn't work. Changed the battery, still nothing. Went inside using the master key, and all I could hear was this ticking sound coming from the glove box and from the back somewhere. Nothing else worked. Went outside, and it turns out the clicking is coming from the fuel cap locking mechanism locking and unlocking constantly. Besides the broken passanger car window, there were no electrical issues that I could tell. Bought the car maybe 6 months or so ago. Last few days were supper wet and snowy, so I'm thinking there is a short somewhere? Anyone else had a similar problem? Couldnt find anything similar using search. Thanks in advance!

 

I wouls start by taking a voltage reading across the battery
