XF 4.2 SV8 fuel injector servicing
Whilst I have the engine out of my SV8 and the supercharger off, I'm considering whether to strip things down to the next stage- i.e. intercoolers and fuel rail off- to get the fuel injectors serviced. I was contemplating taking the coolers off just to clean them but they are pretty good just from where I can see / feel at the inlet opening so I'm not going to take them off just for that purpose but I'm wondering if it's worth sending the injectors to a shop with the equipment to service them given that they have 160,000km on them and they'll never (I hope) be more accessible than they are now.....
My question then is, are there serviceable components on these injectors such as filter screens and nozzles that it might benefit from addressing? I have very limited experience with injectors, had the injectors out of a much earlier Range Rover as well as an Astra overhauled years ago and there were replaceable screens and nozzle tips. The car was running beautifully but the kms are getting up there.
