Default XF 5.0 ride improvement

I never really complained about the ride of my 2012 XF. I found it, at times, overly stiff but, altogether good and the handling excellent. I did, however, consistently complained about the ride of my 2012 XJL. So, after the XJL ride became once again terrible, I switched tires and wheels between the two Jaguars.

Interestingly both car's ride improved significantly. The XJL is now riding on the XF's smaller wheels and Conti tires and its ride has become smoother but, still not what I would expect from a large luxury cruiser. Obviously, it did not like the Hankook Ventus V12 tires that I installed after only 2K miles to replace the Pirellis.

On the other hand, the XF absolutely LOVES the larger Hankook tires. Not only handling has improve beyond its already excellent behavior but, the ride is now nothing short of superb on nearly all surfaces. The previously perceived stiffness is gone and I am absolutely surprised how those Hankooks, that were beginning to appear aged after 9K miles and a year on the XJL, are now feel pliant and plush on the XF.

Shows you you can never predict suspension compliance when you combine various tires with different models.

Albert, when I saw the title, my thoughts starting going in the opposite direction of what you wrote.

Glad to hear both are keeping you happy with their service.
