XF Software update
Hello,
just purchased a 2014 X250 XF. Took it to a Jag specialist to get it checked, he’s got top reviews. All is good but recommended a software update?
I think he mentioned engine software update unless I misunderstood. Is there such a thing as engine software?
quoted approx £250
Has anyone done this & would u recommend?

They update the software from time to time. I'd say if it's old then prob worth getting it updated. But prob not an urgent priority if all works ok. Did he think there was an issue? Or just an old version
Hi and thanks for the response. I noticed that great changes are a bit heavy and not very smooth. He's suggested to upgrade software before we do transmission service. I'll go ahead with it I suppose, at least software is up to date.
Did you mean gear changes? I would suggest a transmission fluid change first (you did not post how many miles so not sure??) instead of any software updating.
With a 2014 I would be focusing on fluid changes and other basic maintenance.
