Default XF Thermostat Sensor? AJ126 3.0

Hi.

Before i go digging is there an simple way to tell if the thermostat has a sensor attached. I have seen that there are 2 different types available, with or without.

Research video how to replace

I have replaced my thermostat with the metal version. Hopefully this will resolve the plastic housing splitting in future.

There are no thermostats with sensors, if so there are ones with a heater element for faster opening under increased load.
According to parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com cars with VIN to U39092 are ones without heater element.

Ones with heater element have 2 wires and a connector implemented.

Thanks Pepix as I have been looking for a good explanation of what that sensor does? I did see a picture of the inside of the metal version and the sensor is attached to the stem of the thermostat. So it does look like it moves the thermostat by itself.
