I took my intercoolers off and noticed that the two rear runners (cylinders 4 and 8) are much cleaner than the front six. It appears that they flow less air. By the much lighter shade, it seems this unequal airflow is significant. This may be a cause for concern, especially if modifying for more power.

 

Wow. it looked the same on both coolers? that is bizarre.

 

There's an engine shop near me that has a Flowbench. If someone really wanted to know just how much the manifolds flow and runner imbalance and wanted to chip in for the cost, I could get them tested. I was given a quote of about $125. I would just need to make an adapter to adapt the runners to the flowbench opening.
