2011 Jaguar XJ 5.0 V8
Hey members. In 2013, I was visiting a Hornburg Land Rover on Sunset to test drive and buy a new body style Range Rover only to find the dealer mark up of more than $20k. They brought out a 2011 XJ 5.0 V8 that had 17k miles. It was a manufacturer's buy back, but dealer said they repaired every issues with the car. It looked good with blacked out 20" Orona satin black wheels. Bought it, and.this car has not had any issues at all. Just replaced the water pump last year. Is it possible to have original battery on a car that is 13 years old? My batter is from 2011. Also, the reason I bought this car is because in 2011, Jaguar was at the top of JD Power list for having the least problems per model. XJ was above Lexus and Toyota. Unbelievable.
Yes, it is possible to have a battery that is 13 years old. If you take care of the battery, it will take care of you. Granted, I would be looking at replacing it soon as it is getting weak and you just are not noticing it. You get a new battery in it, you will notice how the car will catch immediately, not have to crank a few times. Stick with an AGM battery and get the one with the most CCA that you can.
Yes. On my 2014 XJR I finally replaced the factory battery after about 10.5 years. Not because of any problems just because I have never had a battery last that long before!
Got worried about trying to set a record and eventually having the car die on me somewhere!

I had my alternator replaced at 59,500 miles , it was about 9 years old on my X-351 v8. Dasboard was lit up like a Christmas tree as the symptom.
I also had to replace the battery at the same time as well.

ABrice, I just rolled over 90K miles on a 2016 on the factory alternator and going strong. Had over 140K miles on my 2012 and it was going strong before other things happened to the car.
