Default 2013 XJL 5.0 SC Waranty expiration in August 2017

After the first four months of driving this car, it still is very impressing in all aspects to me. Picked it up with 22,300 miles, I now have 28,340.
I was told by the service writer at the Jaguar dealership in north Houston that the factory waranty will expire in August. I self changed the oil and filter, and that is about all I have done to the car other than washing and waxing.
I'm making an apointment with the dealership and would like some sugestions on items that should be addressed before the waranty runs out.

Thanks to all,

Ray

Open your sunroof to make sure there is no rust developing in the corners. This was repaired under warranty on my 2013 XJL. They remove and replace the entire sunroof. Without warranty the cost was over $6000.

Water pump is a known defect. Check it for signs of leaking - low level in the overflow tank, dried coolant drip marks, and the tell-tale aroma of antifreeze.

Update on my service appointment:

Service writer suggested the fuel injection and decarb service to be done which they would included(complimentry $49.97 value) the multipoint inspection. I agreed.

My main reason coming to the Jaguar dealership was to have the multipoint inspection done.

During the inspection, the tech found that the water pump was leaking. I thought, man did I just get lucky since my waranty expires in 45 days.

Service writer said it would be covered under the Factory waranty. Felt like I won the lottery.

He sugested that i have the power steering fluid flushed also and I agreed since I felt that I just dodged the bullet on the water pump.

My experience with Jaguar Houston North and Adam the service writer, was handeled very professionally and all work was done to my complete satisfaction.

I'll be contacting this dealership in the near future regarding an extended waranty.

Best,

Ray

I'm out of warranty with a 2011 XJ with only 53,000 miles on it. Major electrical issues and the car is stuck in limp mode. The dealer, Jim Coleman Jaguar has recommended I scrap the car.

My advise is to immediately get rid of any Jaguar out of warranty. While in warranty, Jim Coleman did do every repair without incident. These cars are just to unreliable to not have the protection of a warranty.
