2014 BCM questions
Got my 2014 XJ one year ago. No service history. everything works great but, on start, it says service required. The Jaguar scanner says that invalid signal is received from Gateway A. There are some secondary errors, too. I assume this is the BCM located in the passenger side of the trunk, right? I replaced it with a same model, same year unit, and the error remains. The car still works great. 1. Is Gateway A indeed the BCM in the rear left, please? If no, that is and where is gateway A? If yes, does the BCM need to be programmed to the specific VIN, please? Please respond if you have specific knowledge. I own 8 cars and I have fixed BCMs those and on GMC truck, too. They are all different. Regards, Bo
The service interval can be reset in SDD, that's not symptomatic of the Gateway A error code.
If you want to replace the BCM unit you must pair it with the car. It needs to be programmed as a virgin module- you can dump and reflash a new file to the EEPROM on the board itself but it requires some soldering and electronics skills. There is a good amount of info over on the UK Jaguar forum.
