2014 XJL Driver's side Headlight Assembly Unit
For my 2014 XJL Portfolio, the dealer says I have an internal short in my driver's side headlight assembly unit, which is why the headlight may go out periodically. The dealership wants over $2000 for the part (the technician sent word that he would suggest searching on "Amazon" or even a "junk yard" for the part; he doesn't see paying over $2000 to Jaguar for the "plug and play" part that I might be able to purchase online for $300 - $400). Service advised they would install "customer furnished part." Thus far my search has not yielded any results. Any suggestions?
I see dozens on EBay?
Might try to search there. But your tech is way off on the price. I updated my 2014 to LED headlights and sold the old ones for about $700 per side. They were in almost perfect condition. But they were NOT from a wreck which always comes with the big unknown of how hard of an impact the headlight took. Watch for broken mounting brackets which is common on wrecked units.
Of course depending on how hard you shop you might get it cheaper.
