Default 2015 XJL is getting infotainment system replaced

My 2015 XJ infotainment system is being replaced under warranty by my Jaguar dealership. If they are unable to locate an original replacement system, is it possible that they can replace it with the infotainment system for the 2016-current XJ that includes Apple Play?

The apple play was 2017 onwards. I know this as I have the 2016 & mine hasn't got it. Fingers crossed they'll sort a modern system for you.

Considering it's a 2015, unless it's a Jaguar CPO warranty I can only assume you're talking about a 3rd party warranty that you bought.
Regardless of that, I'm pretty sure that you're asking the Jaguar forum for our opinion or experience of anyone who has, which if you search (use the tool) for posts related to your question, I don't think you'll find any results - none that I've ever seen anyway. BUT if you use the search tool, there may be posts on it that I haven't seen.

The ones that have the answer that matters are the dealership and the warranty administrator.
The dealership can answer if it can be done (regardless of who's paying them).
The warranty administrator will tell you what they'll pay for.
Best of luck with what ever the outcome is.

Had mine replaced a few months ago under CPO warranty - 2016 MY - it was not the new screen, and Carplay was not available after specific requests. It was a 2 month affair going back and forth, multiple units tried after some software failures.

What did work (that didn't prior) was being able to use hotspot wifi from my cell phone to connect the nav to online services. That way i can get live traffic in my nav, the most important feature for me now that 3g was deprecated.

I had a dashcam installed today at a shop that claims there's a wireless adaptor that can provide Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and more on 2011-2016 XJs. The product is ITZ-LR12-C offered my ZZ-2 Corp. He quoted me a price North of $1k, which is out of my budget. Maybe one of you is both more daring and better financed than me will take it on?

Balto,

I always find it deeply worrying when you visit a vendor's website and they don't list the price! That phone call will suck you in.

Still, that said, I'm not sure I would shell out that kind of cash for a product that I'd rarely use. Looks good though.
