2016 Cadillac CT6
I had an opportunity to drive the new Cadillac CT6 3.6L V6 Luxury AWD. The dealership let me take it out for several hours. The car priced out at $63,500 so it was nicely equipped.
This is a nice car but IMO, would have been much better if cadillac not sacrificed quality materials and quality workmanship for high tech gadgets and communications.
If you are looking for more head and leg room both front and rear, you might want to try this car out but IMO it falls short of the quality material and build of the Jaguar XJ.
Here is the clincher, fully loaded with all the goodies the CT6 can price out at $88,500

Good to know after reading glowing reviews of Cadillac's latest effort. We tried out a new XTS when we were car shopping and, compared to the Jaguar XJL, it just seemed very ordinary, not to mention cramped.

How did the CT6's V6 sound? I hear not very inspiring to say the least.
Other gripes I hear = cramped interior, cheap plastic bits, tacky computer graphics/colors, rough ride
The only thing I love is the rear mirror camera, wish all new cars have it!

I totally agree with your second statement except for, I did not find the ride to be rough. IMO the ride over rough surfaces seemed to be slightly better than the Jag.
The rear camera is nice but I did not find it as being something that I would have to have.
When it comes to the latest safety technology, computer and infotainment, the CT6 has all the bases covered and one would gloat over all the goodies for the price you pay but IMO all this comes with a price of poor materials and build quality.
I could see the CT6 as a $58,000.00 car but above this price is where I have a problem. IMO Cadillac has done with this car what Hyundai did with the Genesis and Equus, just an illusion of a fine luxrury car. Having owned a Genesis I am speaking from experience.
I was seriously thinking about the CT6 because I did not know if I wanted to invest the money into the cost of another Jag but after my time with the CT6 and climbing back into my Jag, I just do not believe that even with all the goodies, I would be happy with the CT6 and would find myself once again spending more time in service than I would like to.
Don't get me wrong I am not trashing the CT6 and I would encourage anyone looking for more head and leg room both front and rear to take a look at this car but IMO when it comes to quality build and materials I found it lacking.
