Have I had one too many glasses of wine, or am I really seeing a chrome "V8" medallion positioned below and towards the rear of the chrome fender vent on the blue model in figure one? No, it can't be, I haven't seen one of those since the nineteen sixties. Good grief! Tell me I'm wrong.
Thanks for the update mate...I love it! And also happy that they did not change the body style too much...makes us owners of the earlier models quite happy that our cars won't depreciate even further!

Do you think my insurance company would believe that I just happened to drive into a corner fence railing that took out both the headlight assemblies but nothing else?
Option two: take out a second mortgage on the house and let my children pay it off after I pass.
I had replaced my left headlight assembly this year due to it being cracked by a small rock being kicked up by a car in front of me and the assembly was $1,695.00/msrp. the insurance paid for that and the 2 hours labor for replacement. I think that the new LED units will be similarly priced.

So, about $3,650.00 to replace two headlight assemblies.
Gee, that's exactly what I paid for a brand new Ford Galaxy 500 four door hard-top in 1964.
Just to make my Jaguar look more like like an Audi?
I don't think so, but to each his or her own.

Here's what the new LED DRL lights look like on video from the Bloodhound SSC car. Very elegant look on the car. I'd pay $4000 in a second to have them on my '11 XJL. Keep in mind, there's an aftermarket on eBay to recoup some of your cost for your original lights, so it's not going to be quite as expensive.

Change for the sake of change is planned obsolescence. The "cat' claw" taillights on the 2011-2015 XJs are so cool; why would anyone mess with them, and for what possible reason?
