Just picked up a leftover 16 XJL. I now have 300 miles on it and I noticed that when encountering any road that is not smooth the 2nd and 3rd switch where the sunroof and rear shade switches are located rattle or vibrate. Very annoying!

If I touch the switches lightly with my fingers the noise go's away.

Anyone else have this problem?

 

I also just got a 16 XJL. don't have that rattle but do have one on the right side dash area. I suppose all cars have a rattle or 2 but it sure is annoying. I'll be spending some time figuring out where it is and whats causing it. I'm the only driver of the car so I have to get someone ridding in passenger seat to help pinpoint the culprit.

 

With a fully-warrantied 2016 model, I'd be letting the dealer find the rattle; that's their job!

Yes! come to find out what I thought was on the riders side dash area is the same location as yours it's in the overhead switches. same thing if I touch it it goes away. Have you found any solution? I hate to take it in for just that but it is very annoying!

 

Yes! Dealer's service department told me there is a campaign from Jag on this. It's a known issue. Going to make an appointment to have the switches replaced.

With respect to the recall campaign, thanks for the "heads up". My car is going in next week, for some software recall, so I'll have the dealer techs look into this glitch, too.
