Adaptive Cruise Control

The dealer tells me that not many people go for this option. However I have been using Adaptive Cruise Control in my Lexus LS430 for nearly ten years ( The joys of owning a Lexus....you're spoiled...lol ) and after such a long time it's very addictive for freeway use where traffic speed is constantly changing between 50 and 75. That is: I get withdrawal symptoms. If I use ordinary cruise control in loaner cars I half-expect the car to know to slow down when the car in front does, and when it doesn't it's unnerving. So I switch off the cruise control completely.
Anyone have it on their XJ and like it? It's quite an expensive option (except on the Supersport where I believe it's a standard feature).
I had cause to use it a short time ago on the XKR 5.0 Supercharged Coupe AND convertible that Jaguar kindly loaned me for a few hours to play in. Beautiful cars, extremely fast and very addictive!!
Whilst on the motorway cruising I used the adaptive cruise control ( quite unnerving for someone not used to it - you really kinda take your life in your hands the first few times ) and it was amazing.....a really useful feature I found, although unsure as to how often I'd really use it. me personally? As an add on option to pay for, I would'nt have it......as part of the setup included, of course!
Sorry, not much help I know
Should I go cold turkey or feed my habit?
I have the Adaptive Cruise Control as standard on my Neiman Marcus Edition and it works very nicely. In fact it's one of those features that works so seamlessly it just adds to the very excellent driving experience with this car....
