advice needed

i have a 2013 jaguar xj awd 3.0 8th letter D…my engine is gone …i went to purchase a new engine the shop had a 2013 jaguar xj awd 3.0 8th letter F…the told me they interchangeable the both awd is that true or does it have to be 8th letter D like the one that is in the car

Have a Jaguar main dealer check the VINs for both vehicles. There may be differences in the sensor locations, shape of the sump, etc.

What is wrong with the engine in the car?
