Beeping In Trunk on 2015 XJL
Sometimes I hear a slight beeping sound in the trunk of my 2015 XJL. I opened up the trunk tire cover but cannot pinpoint where it is emanating from; it sounds like it is coming from under the main battery. I don't have any codes indicating what could be the cause and the car runs completely fine.
I do get a code for a fan problem in the instrument cluster (B12FE) but that doesn't seem to be related. ( I hope the fan problem is also easily resolved; I don't like anything to be wrong with the car)
Any ideas? Thanks much!

Sorry no help about the beeping.
Do you know where the IP fan is located? Not much trouble with them but we have seen a handful of people with problems.
Here is a thread with some pictures that may help.

That beeping is coming from your air compressor. My 2015 XJR does the same thing.
There’s an electrical plug on the valve on the compressor. If you unplug that for 10 seconds and plug it back in it’ll stop.
FWIW - I don’t know WHY it beeps. Everyone I’ve spoken to has never “heard it”.
I’ll be investigating it this weekend. Maybe I can find a solution or cause.

Hey Aaron did you replace the fan assembly? Did it fix it?
I never heard back.
Never heard it but I never checked either. I will take a listen for that beeping since I now know where it's coming from. Thanks for the explanation!

Yes, I replaced it but I replaced it with a “low mileage” fan from a 2018 I believe. Still get the fan DTC but I know it blows, moves air and the bearings sound fine so… whatever. The DTC can live on in the background.

it’d be interesting to learn why. When I mentioned it to a Jaguar Tech some years back he looked at me like I tried to kiss him.
SuperChg, the beep is so faint, I think I need to get a stethoscope to find where in the trunk it's coming from. The rate is about once every ten seconds and frankly the ticking analogue clock in my garage is louder than the beep. That beep is weird.
Thanks much guys for the replies! I'll not be concerned then.
This reminds me of an old joke: Flying saucers have been spotted recently in the neighborhood. When they stop over a man they beep once. When they stop over a woman they beep twice. When they stop over an idiot, they don’t beep. Have you heard them?

Hello,
That instrument cluster fan is actually working in my car. I took the cover off and after driving a while I could see it was spinning around. BTW: that fan seems to be impossible to find now. The manufacturer seems to have discontinued it as all the electrical suppliers show out of stock. Just for the record: it's an embpapst RV40-18/12L made in Germany and has four wires to the motor. The ones I located on the web only show two wires so even if you can find an after market unit, it probably won't work. Maybe a Jag parts might have one but the one in your car might be working but throwing a code! I quit looking once I realized the fan is spinning.

Hi all,
I often sit in my car with everything turned off, (I know it sounds kinda weird, but it's more comfortable that a park bench when watching my daughters soccer practice).
Anyway, the car makes a series of noises as it shuts various systems down and dumps pressures. After about 5 mins, the IC fan will run for about 2 secs, I presume it's to just get rid of any residual heat in the IC. After that, it all goes quiet.

It's normal. I hear that beeping as well. It sounds like modules are powering down. The audio unit and satellite radio modules are located on the driver side of the trunk and might be giving a short beep just after shutdown.
