Does a new Jaguar XJ require a break-in period??? What have you guys done with yours??

I do not believe any manufacturers have break in periods listed anymore.
I have not seen it in BMW, Mercedes, or Jaguar.

I dont think there is a set periiod but I think a sensible approach would be to not race the car and rev it too highly for a while.
I have done nearly 3000 miles in mine now and although I have driven it at high speeds I have not raced away from the lights too rapidly.
Over here we have the diesel 3 litre twin turbo engine and at an indicated 90 mph the engine is just revving at only 2000 rpm, amazing how low it is.

I have asked the senior manager at the service facility in Carlsbad. He said no to worry about it and just drive it...
Anyway, I wonder whether this would only make a difference if we are thinking in the very long term. Would it matter if the car is leased for 3 years?
