Can the camera system be programmed?
Can the camera button on my '16 XJL be programmed so that when first pushed the 360* view comes up first and not the split screen-wide view?

It depends on your speed at the time you press the button.
The following is from the manual.
Camera shortcuts
Press the Camera button for the
following shortcut options:
When in Reverse (R):
• Press once to select the Rear Junction
view.
• Press twice to select the T Junction
View.
• Press a third time to return to the Rear
Junction view.
When in a forward gear, at speeds below 10 km/h (6 mph):
• Press once to select the T Junction
View.
• Press twice to select the Rear Junction
view.
• Press a third time to return to the T
Junction View.
When in Neutral (N) or Park (P):
• Press once to select the Plan View.
• Press twice to select the T Junction
View.
• Press a third time to select the Rear
Junction view.
