Wondering if anyone has had any success linking their Android to a 2011 XJL for audio & video. If so, what modules/ devices were needed?

Nothing needed. Its supported inbuild.
Not sure about video, but for music just pair your Android device with Bluetooth to XJ (Phone on centre touchscreen) and once connected, then from Audio section, press small + next to My Music button and you should be able to see your phone.
Works like a charm.
I think video will work as well, but because limited speed of the BT i recommend to use USB pendrive inside centre armrest USB socket. (refer handbook for supported video formats)
