I have a XJ8 1999 (T). I have recently changed the engine and the the new engine was running great up until the other day when the crankshaft damper pulley had worked itself loose as not been torqued correctly. I have now bought a replacement. Will this just fit straight on or is there anything that goes on first washers etc as old pulley looks worn at the back as if it has been rubbing against something. Could this be caused by it not being correctly tightened ?

 

Try going to the 1999 XJ8 forum and asking them if they might be able to help. Completely different vehicle and engine.
