I recently took my 2018 XJR to a local shop to have my 4k blackvue dash cam and hard-wiring kit installed. After waiting for 2 hours, the shop told me the kit wouldn't hold power when connected to the car. When they tested the kit outside of the car, it held power. Has anyone had this issue? It doesn't sound like the kit is defective so I'm not sure what the issue is.

Need to add diode to prevent dashcam battery feeding car, when car will shut down its systems.

This is what I am using on my 2018 XF & my Ford Escape. Plugs into OBD2 for power onto dash cam. Never had a problem The dash cams I am using are both Rexing V3.
