Engine code - P007B-00
Hi All,
So, this engine code popped up again. I think the sensor maybe going bad. Has anyone tackled this job. I got a 2014 XJ L 3.0 AWD. I've noticed that the idle is a little bit rough but it's quite minor , one thing i will say i did notice fuel economy go down but its been cold in Canada so I think it may also be just from warming up the car but i cant say.
Thanks the help.

Great job by Nedoerr, sharing the TSB.
It is confusing. I have a MY 2016 XJL 3.0L. I had a P007 message held in memory that I cleared.
My interpretation of the diagnosis:
If no fault found, bounce the pedal 3 times at speed and idle to try and reproduce fault.
If fault returns, replace the sensor.
Did you successfully make a repair?

My interpretation of the diagnosis:
- check that air pump is running
- check that sensor is not shorting to ground/power/open

If fault returns, replace the sensor.

No I did not have this problem, only pulled up the TSB.
The TSB basically translates to either the supercharger coolant pump (cac = charged air cooler) not working or the TMAP sensor not working. That can be due to either part being bad or the wiring.
The replication drive cycle is just to confirm whether the CEL returns after clearing the code.
If the pump is bad, your coolant temp on that circuit will be very hot. Should be able to measure heat off of the cooler and compare temps to others on this forum. If the sensor is bad you could probably check live sensor readings using a compatible OBD sensor. If the voltage is stuck at one constant number (ie 0V) it would suggest this as a possibility.

Yes is the coolant pump running? Can you hear it?
It's in front of the radiator up high on the passenger side and you need to be close to it or you won't hear it. I often put my hand on the pump and then have someone start the car. I find it easier to tell that way.
I don't think you meant air pump?
Not sure what you mean by alternative to the pump? Yes we do have replacements for the pump from other suppliers besides Jaguar. I have installed the very common Bosch 010 pump which only requires minor modifications to fit it.
