Hello,

Having some front sunroof/moon roof issues. Curious to know if anyone has a DIY solution.

The glass part of the FRONT moonroof opens and closes just fine. When parking the cloth part of the moon roof / headliner snapped back open like a rubber band and now won't close.

When I wiggle my hand inside over the cloth I can feel a rod and when I push the close button I feel that rod turn... But the cloth part of the moonroof headliner still doesn't close.

This happen to anyone?

It's a 2011 xjl.

Unfortunately I just got it back 7 days ago after having been in the shop for 2 months getting a new engine because the head gasket blew at 35k miles.

I hope this isn't going to be a trend.

Another question re sunroof/moonroof.

My sunroof/moonroof opens only half-way; is that correct or should it roll back completely?

It shouldn't be half way...it goes all the way backwith the exception of a few inches (2-3) where it sticks out.


There is a thread on resetting the sunroof...maybe the same one which I posted above.


Hope this helps else let me know and I can take pic of my sunroof when it is open.

 

Definitely try the reset procedure in the Owner's manual. If you need the instructions, and it's not in the thread above that LiquidIce linked you too, repost, and we'll get it for ya.
