I agree with Ed - a locked glove box is usually indicative of Valet Mode being ON. You can check the status of this on the Touchscreen.
If it is set ON, the PIN is needed to deactivate it. If the PIN is forgotten/lost then it's a Jaguar Dealer job to deactivate it.
On my XK, the Glove Box can be opened even in Valet Mode using the Emergency Key Blade in the Smart Key. I haven't taken sufficient notice when in an X351 to know if it has the same kind of release button.....?

As you've already found out, the Driver's Handbook has nothing on the Glove Box other than identifying the button.
I'm away from home and don't have access to the Workshop Manual for the X351. If anyone has this available, any emergency release procedure will be there.
Have you checked / eliminated the fuse?
It's Fuse57 (10 amp Red) in the Passenger Compartment Fuse Box. This also protects the sun visor lamps and vanity lamps so if these are working, the fuse will be OK.

Several years ago I had a radiator hose burst on my (then) XJ40 when returning from Christmas Day lunch in Amiens. Although I could get a depanage that same day back to where we we staying near Albert, Jaguar Paris was closed for a week and a new hose was unavailable until they re-opened.
I'm south of you today in Pays de Loire. Hopefully I get back to Eurotunnel without needing any dealer assistance or I could be in France until February!
