Does anyone know how to remove the rear seat in an XJ ?
Im fitting a dashcam (with front and rear cameras) and it seems the easiest way to get power (i need a constant and a switched feed) is from the fuses in the central fuse box behind the rear seat arm rest. Only problem is how to get the wires from the door pillar to this point behind the seat? If i could remove the seat base i could run the wires underneath and into the fusebox, but i can't figure out how the seat is removed - It seems like the seat might just be clipped in place at the front edge, but I don't want to break anything trying to get it apart!
My rear seat is stuck . Even when I pull both ropes , it won’t open. Any ideas ? I need to locate the bcm module and indications shows it’s right there
I assume you got the seats up and are struggling with the back rests, correct? If so, just wiggle the seat a bit while pulling very firmly on the strap. Mine required me to pull the strap pretty hard while wiggling the seat back.
The side behind the driver seem loose but the side behind the passenger is really stuck. Tried pulling the rope and wiggling the seat but still no luck.
Pulling the strap is the only way I’m aware to do it. It should help to throw your weight into the seat back while pulling. You might also try pulling the strap with more of a quick jerk instead of being controlled with the pull. Alternatively you could try to undo the problematic side first, see if that helps.
I just did it today in my XJ supersport just finished a few minutes ago
I had a noise -rackle coming from the subwoofers at the rear I have the Bowers Wilkins sound system, and to see what is that rackle that was horrible, I start removing the seats, the lower part it is easy to remove, just find the clips with the finger and unclip them, disconnect the few electrical from the seat ( I have ventilated etc) the upper part of the seat it is very easy, just push the 2 strings below the seat and it release it and il goes down, very easy. (push in one go like PAM ( I understand myself:- ) then the problems start, it is absolutely not easy to remove the rear shelf, there is 2 screws a bit hidden one in each side, and you need to remove the side pillars too, you need a lot of effort and passion to remove the rear shell it self,
after succeeding and doing hours of Yoga in the car, I see the problem, the screws that hold the subwoofers, they were completely loose. That was the rackle noise.
To put all back was quite easy, and now the sound is great again.

Hey Geoffrey. Im about to remove my rear parcel shelf to replace it for one that has the rear sunshade. That removal seemed painful for you. Glad you found that rattling noise brother. Any tips on removing it...? Thanks.
I was tried to removal passenger's rear seat for install IPMB. However I didn't understand how to do it. I read the manual several times. Most of manual, post said that the bottom can be removed using this lever. My Jag didn't exist a lever there. (Or I didn't find it) What am I missing? Anybody have good ideas?

It is XJL(X351) 2017. Thanks!
You can't see the levers, you have to feel for them.
There are 4 of them, located where that diagram says they are at. Yeah, they are hard to find sometimes. You just have to slide your hand underneath the seat until and just feel for them, and then move the lever. You have to unlatch all four of them.
You know those levers are for the back seat right? That doesn't look like a back seat. That looks like a front seat. Unless the 2017 model rear seats are different than a 2012. Did you find a manual for a 2017 model Jaguar?
