Default How to tighten steering?

Is there a modification my mechanic can make to the car's software that will default the steering response to what's present in Dynamic Mode? Depressing the checkered flag button would continue to activate/deactivate the other features, but have no effect on the now-permanent heavier steering. I would prefer this tighter steering in all normal driving conditions, but don't usually require the higher shift points, stiffer suspension, etc. that Dynamic entails.
I think I read elsewhere that an electrical connector can be unplugged on the steering rack to achieve this or something similar. Can anyone confirm? If I do this, will I get error messages or other unintended consequences?

I doubt your regular mechanic will be able to do anything?
We have some SDD guys on here and hopefully one of them will see your post. I think if you edit the CCF file you could set the steering to how you want it.
I use SDD a good bit but have never got into CCF editing. That's really deep into the guts of the car!

Funny you mention the steering rack plug too? Different but closely related car is the old Lincoln LS. My 2003 got stuck in high steering effort as the GEM had a failure in it. Car was NOT fun to drive like that either! Wonderful at speed but man parking was a real chore! But you could just try it and see? Don't think it would hurt anything and probably at worst it will set some codes. But a quick and easy test at any rate!
