Illuminated Air Vents

OK, question. There are 2011 XJ models that offer the illuminted air vents. I have added the illuminted door sills and the wiring already existed. Thinking that the harness is there for the vents too. Any thoughts and does anyone have possible part numbers???

They look awesome but there have been complaints from some that they show up in the passenger side mirror at night. it makes sense, I can see my vents reflected in that mirror without illumination. I have to admit, though, that the effect is nice overall. Please post pics if you do it.

They don't bother me much since the car is tinted. I like them a lot

I recently requested these from my dealer and was told they're OEM only - and didn't get any further than that...

I'm pretty sure the wiring harness is not prewired like your sill plates were. you have to buy a supersport to get the lighted vents or get creative with some wiring.

I do not know if the Jag XJ is prewired for these vents but I would suspect that it is. It would cost close to $2,000.00 to purchase the vents so this would be an expensive venture, if it could be done.
The illuminated Package that includes not only the vents but door sills and trunk finisher is $1,700.00, the price practically doubles when you purchase these items from parts.
I think I paid a little over $1,700.00 for the door sills and trunk finisher, tried to recover some of the cost by selling some parts on eBay.

Unfortunately if the illuminated vents were not specified from the factory then the wiring will not be in your car. The electrical schematics show the wiring as omitted.

If you don't mind watching eBay for a few weeks you can usually get the illuminated sills for around £100 each ($150). Remember the rear sills will be different for LWB models. Personally I wouldn't bother with the boot trim because they are nowhere near as nice as the door sills and it is the most expensive one. I'd spec/fit the door sills every time because they completely change the cabin experience when entering the car at night.
