Mid/Rear-End Vibration in Reverse
Hi there, I’m hoping you can help me diagnose an issue with my car. Just trying to narrow it down before replacing more parts unnecessarily.
I drive a 2015 Jaguar XJL AWD 3.0. I've been noticing a vibration that happens specifically when the car is in reverse gear. The vibration is constant while in reverse, and it gets stronger when I hold the brake. It also becomes worse when the AC is on.
I’ve already had the engine mounts replaced and transmission mount looks solid, but the issue is still there. The vibration sounds like it's coming from the middle or rear of the car not the engine area.
My mechanic said it could be the following
Play or wear in the driveshaft, CV axles, or center support bearing (especially since it’s AWD).
The rear differential mounts or bushings, and rear CV joints.
