Default Mina Gallery Intake question

Hi all, my intake is cracked near the throttle body area on my 12 XJL SC 5.0, and I will need to buy a new one. I just ordered the Mina gallery one, but I am now seeing a lot of mixed opinions (mostly negative) saying due to theirs being metal, it increases the IAT temps drastically, especially when idling. Also apparently the Mina one causes worse performance?

Should I go through with Mina order or cancel and buy an original/plastic one?

I was mainly looking to get Mina because I thought metal would mean better longevity/durability over plastic.

I tested it in my video with a monitor in my car and it was the same as stock, but there are divisions to stop the heat, it sounds good

You can ask them to powdercoat the intake tube for you. I have the black crinkle finish tubes on my XJ and F-type; they look great and you can actually touch them when hot.

I believe the claims about them are overstated as to lost power and heat sink. They are aluminum that sheds heat readily anyway, and being that they are still getting their air through the factory paths of the air boxes I can't really see just where heat is supposed to come from anyway, which is why I went with it with the krinkle finish. TBH the claims against them border on rumor started by a competitor to tank their sales. I have no idea if that is true, but every time I see them mentioned folk go running to that claim that I have yet to see any proof of. So yes, I think it looks great, I know it can't collapse or crack, and I like hearing the SC whine a little bit more.
