Default Never ending break pad replacement!


For members please help my 2016 XJL all wheel drive trying to replace this take out this caliper bolt but can’t figure out the size here’s a picture. I hope it sparks the right torques bit. Thanks please help.

Clovis, first off, that is a metric allen head. I am wanting to say that it is 12 mm. If you look at your allen set, you will notice that the 12mm allen does not exist in that set. So, this is something that you have to buy separately. For some reason, they went with a non-standard wrench size on this bolt. If you look at your local auto parts place or a hardware store, they should sell that missing allen wrench. You can then get the bolt out. the ones on the front are kinda the same way. They are just 2mm larger in size than the rear ones as I recall.

It´s 7mm allen key in rear and 9mm key front. (quite common on all ATE made calibers)
Correct: These sizes are not normally on allen key sets.
