Default New XJ AWD

Hi everyone, Im new to the forums and just traded my AMG Benz for a Jag XJ AWD. Very excited!

Two questions:
1. Would like to replace the standard side exterior vents that say Jaguar to the ones that say Supercharged. Is this an easy swap and install?
2. I may want to remove the 3.0 displacement emblem on back trunk, its kind of silly. Anyone every do this? Ideally, it should say Supercharged, but don't know if they make that emblem. The "S" emblems I don't believe are appropriate as they are for supercharged and sport tuned engines.

Congrats on your New Year's Toy!

How are you liking the Stop/Start function? Please compare/contrast the ride with AMG.

Cheers,
Wolfy

You need not replace the standard side exterior vents that say Jaguar. Simply go online to eBay and buy the chrome with black lettering "Supercharged" medallions made in Korea, and then attach them to the grill work of the existing vents using the stick-on tape provided on the medallions. These measure 3/8" high by 4 3/16" long, and are identical to those provided on the Jaguar OEM side exterior vents which have "supercharged" displayed in them.

Again you can go online to eBay and find a 3/4" high by 5 13/16' long "SUPERCHARGED" chrome with black lettering medallion to use on the trunk, which again comes with stick-on tape applied.

You can easily remove the 3.0 L displacement emblem from the trunk lid by heating it with a hair dryer, and then separating it from the lid using a short strand of dental floss. Any remaining "stick-um" from the OE medallion on the lid can be easily removed with "Goo-be-gone" or road tar remover.

For those interested, I heard through a birdie that Jaguar is supposed to be coming out with the 5.0L supercharged AWD XJ here in the near future. Unfortunately, the motor will be slightly detuned down to 468 hp to allow the AWD system to function. Curious to see how many people will be wanting that to play with.

First, I like the start/stop. I heard a lot of complaining about it, but don't see what the fuss is about...quite frankly I couldn't see it working better than it does.

I have had many benzes...love the 4-matic system and they have become quite reliable over the years. Finally, decided I see too many of them and being completely honest, I've always wanted a jag. Wife approved after driving A8, A7, CLS-550 and S class...so there you have it.

My impression, the XJ AWD is way fast and severely under-rated in 0-60 times. It's under 5.2 seconds for sure, maybe less. The car just seems so much faster then the twin turbo benz V8. The car being all aluminum is a beast. That said, drive is silky compared to benz due I think to 8sp transmission matched perfectly to the xj.

The AWD seems just as sticky as the benz, in winter mode car feels 1000 lbs heavier! Amazing.

The interior...lets just say after sitting in the interior of the xj, you have to sit in a Bentley to not think all other cars are mainly made of plastic. I have truffle/cashew/portfolio fyi.

Technology seems perfect, not overkill but everything that should be needed. Love the TFTs! Audi is known for tech and my friend who has an S6 said the XJ blew his mind.

LOVE IT....

Try "Jaguar 'Supercharged' badges" in the auto accessory section. Good luck.
