Well the car I've dreamed of for over 30 years is now in my garage.

I was out of town, in Southern California and stumbled across a beautiful XJ in Stratus Gray, with Oyster interior. The price was pretty decent, compared to what I had available in my area and it had low mileage.

Hadn't done my normal due diligence on it, but the dealer selling it was the dealer that had sold it originally and had the service history on it. It is a 2012 NA with 50k on the clock. I knew about the water pump issue, but in the heat of the moment didn't check it. I have no problem changing it out, and if I can't find out for sure it has been done I will go ahead and do it. The dealer had just replaced both of the lower control arms and replaced all 4 tires. 4 wheel alignment and 4 yr service were all performed with an invoice of over 3 grand.

They were really pushing a 3 yr/36000 mile warranty, but I believe in the power of these forums, and with all the assistance I've received on the XK-8 from here I am confidant I can handle anything that come up.

I have been going over the XJ forum and find many of the same issues and praises as in the XK forum. The character of these cars is my sucker point, I also own a couple of Moto Guzzi motorcycles and they are very much an ownership experience you have to go through to appreciate.

Congrats. I just picked up an XJ Supercharged in Stratus Grey here in SoCal myself. I'm starting my second week of ownership and I'm loving it. I actually look forward to my commute now!
