Ntimd8,

Did you have that TCP intake left over from the XF? They dont seem to exist anymore, and the only intake i can see at this point is the Mina Gallery one. Not sure how similar they are or not.

Yes, I went to buy one and saw TCP doesn't seem to be in business anymore so I called my insurance and told them I needed access to the car to get some of my belongings. When I went to the car I swapped the stock XFR intake back on and took the TCP one.

After trying out different setups for exhaust I found the best that suits the car. When the valves are open it sounds very exotic. When I hang the revs and not give it too much gas, the tone is unexplainable. Backfires louder than an FType too. When the valves are closed, it sounds as quiet as stock but still defined.
I did AP Cats, non resonated Xpipe, and Varex Valvetronic Mufflers wired to the rear fuse box. Best setup for the x351 imho.

I also have a pulley and tune along with Mina Gallery Intake. I had the TCP but had problems with the rubber couplings compressing under full load. The Mina Gallery Intake is one piece altogether and is much cleaner.

I had Chris at TCP make the Intake for the XJ as the XF had different demensions. My car was the test mule.

Congrats on the new XJ bro. When I first saw your car I was like "NOOOO.... He got his XJ the color I wanted to get my XJ". Then I realized it was not the same color.

The color I plan on getting my XJ is Atlantis Blue from BMW... Check it out... I love this color and it is my favorite color of all time. Once I have enough money aside to blow on this paint job, I'm gonna get it done. About another 6 months and I should be good...

If there are differences it is minimal because it fit on the XJ perfectly.

Atlantis Blue is the best blue ever made by any company.

Do you happen to have the part number for the particular muffler you used? Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have the part # since they were already installed when I bought the car.

I see that they make different configurations for inlet/outlet size and offset. Your muffler shop should be able to figure out which is best.

Have you had the chance to hear a stock XJ Supercharged? I’m trying to determine how much louder it is over stock. While I want it to have that nice burble and pops on overruns and louder than stock for sure, I don’t want it to be overly loud and not match the image of the XJ. This isn’t a corvette or mustang or even an F-type that can pull off a crazy loud exhaust note.

You have a point and you might want to listen to an stock XJR too?

My 2014 "R" is plenty loud enough stock for just the reasons you posted. I came to my XJR from the American muscle car side and I LIKE loud exhausts but it needs to match the car.

That's what's so ridiculous about the Honda's with big fart pipe exhaust. It just looks/sounds stupid.

Ya exactly. The video he posted though doesn’t sound excessive at all. It’s just hard to tell in a video.

I have nothing to compare it to, but it probably sounds close to an XJR. It might be a little loud for some. I'm pretty conservative and am happy with it.

It's about as loud as the stock 6.3 Mercedes AMG engines from 10 years ago

I think your old setup is similar to my current. Was it too loud?

My old setup was too loud definitely. I think Muffler delete is too hardcore for the XJ. With the valved mufflers I have the best of both worlds. When open, it pops and crackles, when closed it’s whisper quiet in the cabin and outside.

So your old setup was straight pipe without any mufflers at all?
