My question is does anyone know what size fuse style bulb my '02 XJR 100 would take? 42 Drat Designs shows a 39mm and 42 mm available.
I tried their bulbs on my XK for the rear stop, tail and turn signal. I took them out simply because I didn't think they are bright enough. Just my 2 cents.

Gears, can you point me to where you posted the hack? I just saw a 2012 XF, which now has the same headlight unit as the XJ. It had just the LED strip on, and it looked awesome! However, my dealer said they can't do that on the XJ.

well, NO, we replace alot of rear tailights especially the XF for burned/inop LEDs, not all LEDs, but a few here and there.

I literally just saw 2012 XF also (just got back from dealer for 1st year service); 2012 XF's LED strip is much brighter than our slightly pathetic "Signature Lights" because they are actually DLRs. I asked service rep about activating DLR on my car - they would do it but advised me XJ's DLR means that the lights are turned on at start-up. I realize there is a hack to turn on just the strip, but the LEDs are so dim that the effect is neglible during the day - looks kind of wimpy

Can you tell me how you did the LED swap on the interior overhead (front)? Do you have to remove the entire plastic assembly and get the lights from the back? I was open to open the clear lense for the three lights however unable to actually pull them out, really tight up there and ended up pushing one back up into the assembly...... Thanks!!!!!

You'll probably have better response by posting this in the x-type section

I finally ordered them all thanks to another_geek. i used autolumination.com because they had more proprietary circuitry and also had heatsinks which I thought were good. Excited to see how it turns out.

BTW I also changed the door puddle lights to the Jaguar projector lights it looks really cool

Default Can someone post a final. accurate LED parts list

from one store with the correct sizes and colors so the rest of us won't have to do the same experimentation as you.

Theres too much random info here.

We need one concise final parts list please.

If mine goes well I will post full details. I ordered from autolumination since it was cheaper and they were running sale on the 194's (single CREE). Once I install I will post parts and if it worked for me for autolumination.com...
Thanks

Ok. I need help. I got my order in, but a few things I need help, so please help me!!!!

1. The rear footwells seems to be 31 mm and not 36mm. I measured the bulb. In any case they sent me the wrong bulb so I need new 36 mm however I think its 31mm.

2. I cannot seem to get the license plate light to pop off, i think I may have damanged the bumper a bit. it seems to come with it... can someone please help me with how to on that? it doesn't look like it pops off...

3. The rear trunk light I took the original light off to measure again but it wouldn't go on anymore..maybe i blew a fuse?

4. Mirror bulbs, I cannot figure out how to get them out, same goes for rear interior lights. I don't want to damage anything so please help me

BTW the single CREE with cover bulb from superlumination is perfect for footwells just the right amount of white light.

Thanks in advance
Ram

To get at the license plate bulb you remove the lamp assembly by inserting a small screwdriver (the Green line in the drawing) and have to catch the tab (circled in red) and ease out the assembly by prying it out of the bumper, The tab is on the right side of the bulb assembly where there is a Small opening. Hope this explains it.

Ok. I took it to the dealer this morning and XJsss you are right it has a catch tab, which is tricky to remove. Finally got it all done including the front bulbs which seems to have four tabs.

I will post pictures and part details on what I used later this week.

front footwells - 194/168 bulbs, 1 per well
front overhead lights - 3 x 194/168 ( there are two tabs in the front and two on the sides, you have to sort of nudge them out)
rear footwells -- 36mm festoon bulbs, 1 per well
rear overhead lights - 2 x 194/168
rear license plate - 2 x 194/168
Trunk - 41mm festoon bulb
So using another_geek's list. here is the parts list from
superlumination.com

Note: My front foot well and license plates use a single CREE since I wanted the ambience but if you want bright bright you can use the SMT Tower
Front footwell: I used | 2 | T10 Wedge ($2.99 each)
> > > > Item # Cree Xbd With Cover | Color: Super White - Dint want to put too many LED's to heat up the plastic.
Rear Foot well - Remmeber you would have to work the holder a bit since these bulbs have a more sharper edge but it works
> > > > | 2 | Festoon Bulb
> > > > Item # 9 Led | Color: Super White
> > > > Size: 36mm SMT
> > > > | $13.98 USD |
Interior front and back dome lights
> > > > | 5 | T10 Wedge
> > > > Item # SMT Tower | Color: Super White
> > > > Lens: 194
> > > > | $7.96 USD |
Rear license plate - 2 T10 Wedge #CREE xbd with cover
I used the same as the front foot well since I wanted a nice warm white and not too many LED's.
Trunk light - I ended up buying a 41mm pilot from Orielly's local store 9.99, works great.

one small correction. Don't use the single CREE bulb for license plates. They have an angle since its only one LED with cover.

i think you would want the towers for those as well. It will be a bit bright but will light it correctly.
