The sumner is almost here. So if you intend to use your xj as a family car, or simply dislike the idea of loading your bike inside, take a look at Seasucker
Bike Rack

I just returned from a 3 day trip to DC area (around 5 hours of highway driving from NYC area; including some driving while it was pouring) and happy to report that these racks are absolutely phenomenal.

Takes 3 minutes to install (once you know what to do), and 30 seconds to take off. No scratches, no cords, full access to your trunk, and easy to store.

I also recommend to consider accessories: a separate holder for the front wheel and cable anchor to secure cable to the trunk (or rear window if you don’t have them tinted).

They offer different rack versions to accommodate one, two, or three bikes.

I also recommend a ski rack that they offer; it is not cheap, but worked like a charm during my winter 4 hour trip.

I’ll be happy to answer any questions

Interesting, unique suction cup design. Thanks for sharing. It looks like you attached the front to the metal part of the roof and the rear to the back glass. What difference does rear window tint make? The film is applied to the inside of the glass. Nicely done! Any wind noise?

Definetly some wind noise with both bike and ski racks when driving over 60 mph...But not enough to bother me.
The tint on the inside may scratch when using the window anchor to secure it between the door frame and the window from inside. This was based not on my personal experience, but on some other review. That's why I purchased the anchor for the trunk instead. The suction cups work well on any smooth surface - glass or metal.
